April Favorites!

I feel like I say this every month, but I can’t believe April is over! I’m so happy to be this much closer to summer! I’ve discovered a few new beauty products this month, so let’s get right into it!

Benefit Roller Lash mascara I recently did a review on this mascara, so I won’t go on too long here, BUT….this mascara is my new fave! I have been using it everyday since I bought it and I absolutely love it!

Philosophy Fresh Cream – O.M.G. This scent is seriously my favorite. I bought this shower gel/bubble bath at the beginning of April, and I am already halfway through it. It smells like frosting/whipped cream, and the scent alone will keep me repurchasing this. Not to mention, the creamy formula is  so nice and not drying at all. Also makes for a great bubble bath!

NYIntense Butter Gloss (Tres Leches)- If you have tried the NYX butter glosses, you will know how creamy and smooth they are without being sticky. Well…these are one step up! They have the same great formulation, with even more pigmentation! One quick swipe of these and BAM….instant, vibrant color! I got the color ‘Tres Leches’ which is the most perfect nude! I cannot stop wearing this!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – This is my new go-to concealer. It has great coverage and is smooth and creamy. I do have to set it with powder to make sure that it does not get cakey. I’ve worn this everyday that I’ve had it, and it really helps cover my dark circles!

MAC Lipstick (Hot Gossip) – This is a new lipstick for me, and I have been wearing it a ton this month. I love MAC lipsticks, and this one is a cremesheen which means that it is very creamy and hydrating. The color is the most perfect pinky, rosy color. Perfect for spring!

Maybelline Master Prime Blur + Illuminate Primer  – I bought this primer a few months ago, and I have been loving it! This collection has three primers, all with different purposes. This one is meant to blur and illuminate. I love that it gives a slight glow, without making me look greasy.

And there you have it…those are the products I have been loving for the month of  April! Let me know what some of you favorites were, and if you have tried any of these products!

Taste Test Tuesday!

Hi everyone! So I know my blog is mostly about beauty and fashion, but I want to incorporate one of my favorite things (food!). So after I tried what I’m about to share, I just knew I had to blog about it!

So, the product I’m talking about is a new flavor of ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s called ‘The Tonight Dough‘ (starring Jimmy Fallon). Contains: ‘caramel and chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough’.IMG_3639

This stuff is DELICIOUS! I’ve always been a lover of cookie dough ice cream, and I love peanut butter. This is very chocolatey (my husband thought it was too rich), but every so often you get a huge chunk of the dough…and let me tell you…that is the best part! I would put this up there as one of my favorites from Ben & Jerry’s. And I would definitely get it again in the future!

Let me know if you have tried this (and if you haven’t, you need to!)

Lazy Sunday

Hi everyone! It’s Sunday, which means Monday is right around the corner 😦 I’m feeling very lazy today, as I do most Sundays. So I thought I would share of the few things I like to on Sundays to relax and to get ready for the coming week.

Also, before I get into the post, I just joined Bloglovin, which is a great way to discover other blogs! Come check me out! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

First of all – Coffee (no explanation needed) – but how cute is that mug!?

Next up is my planner – On Sundays I like to get out my planner and get my week organized. I work full time and I’m also going back to school online, so I like to write down what assignments are due that week and what days I will be free to work on them. I also like to use my planner to plan out our meals for the week.

Usually I’m pretty lazy on Sundays, and I like to pamper myself a bit. I love to paint my nails and toenails so they are fresh for the week (and how pretty is this new Essie color I just picked up!?!). I also love to use my vaseline creme brûlée lip balm…it smells and feels so wonderful!

Last up on my weekend essentials is a candle. I LOVE the candles from Bath and Body Works, and there is nothing cozier to me than lighting a scented candle in the room. This one is Coconut Leaves and it smells so lovely (and it’s almost gone).

That’s everything! I hope you all had a great weekend and have a good week coming up!

Colored Jeans

Happy Saturday everyone! How is your weekend going? I recently ordered a pair of light pink jeans online from Kohl’s (from the LC Lauren Conrad collection | here) and this is the first pair of ‘colored jeans’ I own. I am so excited to start wearing them and have already been thinking about outfits! So I thought I would put together a few different looks if any of you are unsure how to style colored jeans!
Colored Jeans

I love the versatility of colored jeans. As you can see, they can be worn very casual with a chambray button down or even a solid black or white tee. For a more girly, feminine look, you can add a dressier top, or a sweater and some heels. And of course, accessories are a must! Let me know your thoughts on colored jeans, and I hope this post helped you with some ideas of what to pair with them!

Sephora Mini Haul

Hello lovelies…today I bring you a mini Sephora haul! So recently Sephora had their VIB sale [[and this may come as a shock]] but I have not actually spent enough money there to be VIB status. So instead of 15% off, I got 10% which is for ‘beauty insiders’ that have not reached VIB status. I couldn’t let the 10% off go to waste, but there wasn’t really anything I NEEDED….but a few things I’ve been wanting to try. So, I took to the travel sized section to try some things out! Here’s what I got:

  • Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 –

I have really been wanting to try this out…but it’s so expensive! So I figured I would try the travel size to see if I like it or not! I don’t like to wear a lot of foundation or face makeup in the summer, but I still like ‘something’. Also I like that this has SPF in it.

  • Bite Beauty ‘5 Night Fix For Lips’ –

Another thing I have been hearing a TON of good reviews on is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. Again, I wanted to see if I like this before spending the money. So I found this kit that contains the agave lip mask as well as an exfoliating lip balm (and a cute little jar to keep them in!). After using this ONCE, I already know I will be purchasing the full size lip mask when this runs out! It felt like heaven on my lips, and I’m curious to see how my lips feel after using it a few nights in a row.

  • Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette –

I did not need another full size eye shadow palette, but I have been eyeing this one for a long time. The colors are so pretty and I love the combination of matte and shimmery. I thought this would be great for travel so that I don’t have to tote around a full size palette, but I still have enough shades to create multiple eye looks!

Well, that’s everything I got! I know it’s not a crazy haul, but I’m still excited to use all of those products!

Let me know if you have tried any of these and what you think of them! Also, let me know if you picked up anything from the Sephora sale!

April BoxyCharm

It’s that time again…Boxycharm unboxing! This month’s theme is ‘April Bloom’. I was super excited to see everything in this box. For $21/month, you get 4-5 full size makeup/beauty products delivered to your door! Check out Boxycharm if you haven’t already!!

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette – $39.95: If I didn’t already have it, this would be more exciting 😦 But that’s ok, I will just be gifting it to a friend! This eyeshadow palette is full of rosy pinks and mauve tones. I already know that I LOVE this palette, and I reach for it a lot! The colors are well pigmented and blend pretty well too!

IMG_3624(this is my used palette)

OFRA Illuminating Blush Stripes – $35.00: This is a gorgeous highlighter/blush! It is so pigmented and shimmery! You can use just one or two of the colors, or swirl them all together. I think this is my favorite thing in the box!

Coolway Smoothing Lotion – $24.95: This is a hair lotion that is supposed to tame frizz and smooth hair. I have used it already a couple of times, and it does make my hair feel so much smoother!

Harvey Prince Mini Roller Fragrance – $21.00: So it’s not full size, but this is still exciting! It smells so good, and I can’t wait to wear it this summer! Plus, I love rollerballs because they are so easy to throw in your purse!

ModelCo Shine Ultra Lip Gloss – $16.00: I really enjoy this lipgloss more than I thought I would! I have worn it a few times, and it is not sticky, and smells slightly like strawberries! This color is a light, sheer pink and looks great on its own or layered over lipstick.

Total Value: $136.90 What a great box this month! I love everything and am so excited to use it all (and I know my friend will love the palette!).

Let me know what your favorite thing was in this month’s box!

Confessions of a beauty blogger!

Hi lovelies! It’s Sunday and I’m just hanging around in my pajamas so I thought I would do this tag. I saw this one on Plus+ Beauty, and even though I’m still a *new* blogger, I thought it would be fun! Go check out her blog, it’s so lovely! I also just wanted to let you all know that I just joined Twitter (yes, I know I’m late to that party)…so go check me out on there! @rylie630 Hope you enjoy this post!

1) How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?

It depends on the week, but usually around 5 hours or so.

2) Are you a spender or a saver?

A little bit of both, if that’s possible! I try really hard to save, so I do set a budget for myself. But when it comes to shopping, I can’t help but spend!

3) When is it easiest for you to write your posts?

I usually write in the mornings when I’m home alone. But sometimes late at night I get an idea and just start writing!

4) What makes writing posts comfortable for you?

When I first started blogging, I was so nervous, but I found that when I’m writing about something I love, it is so much easier!

5) What’s your worst makeup/hair habit?

Worst makeup habit is not cleaning my brushes as often as I should! Worst hair habit is touching or playing with my hair all day long.

6) What’s one quote you wish the world would live by?

“She believed she could, so she did”. I think this applies to everyone, not just women. To me, it means you can do whatever you put your mind to. Never give up on your dreams 🙂

7) How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

It depends on what I’m doing or where I’m going. On most days, I spend maybe 15 minutes!

8) What’s your favorite post on your blog?

This is kind of a hard one, but I guess my favorite would be my first one ‘Spring Must-Haves‘. It would be my favorite because it was my very first post that started my blogging experience!

9) Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers than they have?

Everyone! I have been so impressed and inspired by the other bloggers out there, and I think they all deserve to have subscribers and support!

10) What’s the one thing you’re getting excited about in the coming year?

When I think about it, I don’t have any major plans in the coming year, but I am excited for this summer! We have a few camping trips planned that I always look forward to!

11) What has been your favorite blogging moment?

Not really a ‘moment’ but just the whole experience! I have gotten so much support from other bloggers and it has made me feel so happy to be able to share things that I love!

12) How long does it take to prep for a post?

It depends on what I’m posting about. Usually I take pictures beforehand and then write out a rough draft before I edit. So I’d say maybe a half hour on average.

13) Are you wearing jeans, a skirt or pj’s right now?

PJs!! I just woke up about an hour ago, so I’m in my sweats and a t-shirt, wrapped in a blanket on the couch!!

Well, that’s it! I hope you all enjoyed this post, feel free to share this tag on your blog!
