September Boxycharm

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing what I got in my September Boxycharm! The theme this month is “Runway Ready”. I haven’t had a chance to play with this stuff a ton, but I will show you what I got! This month I got the usual 5 items, plus a bonus item (YAY)!

From L to R:

Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil – Travel Size – Bonus Item: This is an oil that is supposed to be used for your hair. I tried this just once and seemed to make my hair feel smooth, and it has no scent to it. Excited to try this more!

SCRATCH Nail Wraps – Full Size – $12: I haven’t used these yet, but I do like nail wraps, so I am excited to give these a try. I love that they have some gold, so they might be fun for fall or the holidays!

Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel – Full size – $18: I have never used a clear brow gel before (I use Benefit gimme brow which is tinted), but this is nice for those days when I just want my brows to stay put!

Previse Skincare Hydromilk Hydrating Lotion – Full Size – $48: This has a really nice scent to it and is very hydrating! I love that it has all natural ingredients as well!

Tarte SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner – Full Size – $22: I LOVE THIS! This color is kind of a plum/bronze (if that makes any sense)! I think it will be beautiful for fall, and I like that it has the smudger on the other end of the pencil!

Versant Professional Foundation Brush – Full Size – $32: First off, I don’t think I would ever pay $32 for a brush, and I really am not a fan of these brushes for applying my foundation. I will give it a try though!

Overall, I am pretty pleased with this month’s box! The grand total of this box is $132! Click here to check out Boxycharm if you haven’t already!

Let me know what you thought of September’s Boxycharm!!

Happy Friday all!! The first day of fall was a few days ago…bring on the pumpkin spice!! I saw this tag on Polished by Amy and loved it, so I thought I would share my answers as well 🙂 Be sure to check out her blog!

Favorite Candle Scent?

So hard to choose ONE favorite…but this is definitely one of them right now!! Smells just like you would think autumn would 🙂

Going to the apple orchard, eating donuts and cider, and picking pumpkins! (I pretty much do this every year, but I love it! It’s a tradition with my husband!)

Which make-up trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?

My FIRST Stitch Fix!!

Hi everyone! Today I have an exciting new post…an unboxing of my first ever Stitch Fix. I had been hearing so much about this company and thought it was about time I give it a try! Stay tuned to find out what Stitch Fix is, how it works, and most importantly, what I got!

What it is: Stitch Fix is a company that assigns a personal stylist to help you with your wardrobe. After filling out an extensive style profile, you sign up for a ‘fix’, and your stylist sends you the items!

How it works: After completing the profile, you simply select when you want to receive your box, and you can choose mostly, every other month, or just whenever you want one! You will initially pay a $20 styling fee (which you apply later on to one of the items you decide to purchase). You receive 5 items (clothing, jewelry, bags, etc.) and you try them all on and decide what you want to keep. Your box will come with a list of the items and prices. Whatever you don’t want to keep, you simply send back in the provided bag that is already post-marked (so easy!). If you do decide to keep all 5 items, you will get 25% off of your total (plus the $20 styling fee).

My stylist is Samantha…Let’s see what she picked out for me!

Look by M – Sammie Plaid Infinity Scarf – $34 – This was the first thing I saw, and I instantly knew I loved it! It’s a really thick and warm blanket scarf that could not be more perfect for fall (and winter!). This seems like a great quality, and I love the colors. Keeper!

Pixley – Matata Faux Suede Pocket Knit Top – $44 – This was the next item I pulled out. While I love the way it fits and it is so comfortable, I am just not real crazy about this color combo. Returned

41Hawthorn – Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater – $68 – Next up is this sweater. It is a more light weight sweater, but it is sooo comfy and cozy! I love the different color stripes and think this is so perfect for fall and winter! However, I just can’t justify paying $68 for this sweater. So, sadly, this is returned 😦

Market & Spruce – Elissa French Terry Moto Jacket – $74.00 – In my original styling notes, I had requested a military style army green jacket, My stylist let me know that there was not one in the inventory, but she thought this would make a nice layering piece for fall. And she was right! I don’t own anything like this already, and I think it is so cute for a night out! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep it because of the price, but it seems like really nice quality and a good staple piece for my closet. Keeper!

Liverpool – Mira Skinny Jean – $78 – The last thing I got was this pair of skinny jeans. The fit is nice, although they are a little long for me, so they bunch up through the leg. The one thing I do not like about them though, is the waist band. There is no button or zipper, and they have an elastic stretchy type waist band. I’m just not a big fan of these, so I can’t justify paying that much money if I don’t LOVE something. Returned!

Overall, I am so happy with the pieces Samantha chose for me! I will definitely be doing this again!

Let me know your thoughts on Stitch Fix, and if you haven’t checked it out, you can check it out (here).

MAC’s Whirl

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend :). Today we are talking about my favorite lipstick right now: “Whirl” by MAC. Now, this started out as a lipliner that was made very popular. But a few months ago, MAC released several new matte shades, and this is one of them. It is the perfect 90’s inspired brownish pink and I love the matte formula. Very comfortable, not too drying. This will be my go-to this fall!!

Fall Wish-List!

Happy Friday!! Now that I have put away my summer things, there are a few ‘staples’ that I feel are missing from my wardrobe/makeup collection right now. Today, my husband and I are going to have a little day-date and do some shopping (he doesn’t know what he’s in for!). Here are a few things that are my shopping list for fall!

1. Bomber Jacket – I really don’t have a jacket like this at all, and I think it would be perfect for throwing on when I go out and don’t want a bulky coat. I love this one from Maurices, I think the color is so pretty. I tend to stick with brown color clothing rather than black, so I think this is perfect!

2. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – I love Colourpop, but I have not tried these new liquid lipsticks yet! I have heard great things about them! A couple colors I want to try are ‘Trap’ and ‘Bumble’

3. Too Faced Melted Lipstick in “Melted Berry” – I just think this is the perfect berry (hence the name) color for fall! I love this formula of lipstick already, and don’t currently have a color like this!

4. Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in “Central Perk” – This is a matte shadow from the new 90’s inspired fall collection. I just think this is such a different color and is so pretty for fall. I think it would look great to pair with gold somehow!

5. Wedge Booties – Ok, I am already obsessed with booties, but I am loving this wedge pair! I think it’s obvious how perfect they are for fall! I also prefer a wedge over a high heel!

So there you have it…that’s my fall with-list! Let me know if you have recommendations on any of these! I would also love to hear what you are eyeing for fall!

A favorite fall color…wine

Happy hump day everyone! Just a quick little post sharing these gorgeous beauty products in one of my favorite colors for fall. I love the look of a wine/dark burgundy color, especially on the lips! I think this color is what fall is all about. I’m definitely starting to go through and pull out my darker colors since fall is upon us where I live!

What is your favorite fall color to wear when it comes to beauty products??

Ulta Haul!

HI everyone! I recently went shopping at Ulta, and thought I’d share what I got! Fall is here, and I found myself gravitating toward more ‘fall’ makeup/beauty!

The first thing is this set of 6 mini nail polishes from China Glaze – the “Happy Campers’ set. I love the mix of neutral and dark colors!

Next up is a butter gloss from NYX in ‘Cherry Pie’ – These are some of my favorite glosses – they are so inexpensive and I love the way the feel on my lips! This is such a pretty, sheer red for fall!

The next thing I got was a set from Benefit – “Real Sexy Steal’. This contains a full size of the ‘They’re Real Mascara”, a deluxe sample size of the ‘They’re Real Push up Liner”, and a deluxe size of the “They’re Real Remover’. I have tried all of these but the remover in the past. The reason I got this is because I wanted this mascara anyway, and for the same price, you get the eyeliner and remover. Sounds like a win to me!

The last thing I got was a free gift with my purchase (Yay for free gifts!). It is the ‘Gucci Bamboo‘ mini perfume and lotion. I don’t think this is still available as a free gift, but the scent is new and is available at Ulta. I’m really bad at describing scents, but it’s a nice warm scent, and it has almost a woodsy scent to it (but not too strong). I wouldn’t say that its my favorite scent of all time, but I do really like it, and hey, it was free!

Alright guys, that’s what I got recently from Ulta! Let me know if you have tried any of these, or have any recommendations of products you are loving right now!
