April Favorites

Hi everyone! First off, I just want to say that I am sorry for not keeping up with my blog as well as I would have liked! I have so many things going on right now, that I think for the time being, my posts will be limited to once or twice a week. I hope you can understand, and I promise to pick back up when my life allows! So for now, I want to share what I have been loving in the month of April. I don’t have a ton of products to show you, but quite frankly I have had too much going on to experiment a whole lot. But I have found a few staple products that have not let me down this month!

Pantene Pro-V Smooth Heat Protecting Spray – I had recently used up my current heat protector, and I wanted to try something different. I have really been enjoying this one! It smells so delicious and I feel like it really does protect my hair when I’m straightening/curling it.

Philosophy Pure Grace Summer – This perfume is like summer in a bottle! I can’t quite describe the scent, but its floral and fresh with a hint of coconut. When I compare it to my other favorite summer perfume (Bobbi Brown, Beach), this perfume isn’t as in your face BEACH as the other one. So if you don’t like the smell of sunscreen, this may be more for you!

Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in “Baked” – I got this in a mini size that came in a set that I purchased during the sale because I wanted to try a few things out from the new brand. Well out of the whole set, this has been my favorite! I have a ton of bronzers, but what I love is that it is a cream, which is good for my already dry skin. I also love how easy this is to apply. With the stick form, I literally just draw it on where I want it, and blend! it blends so easily and the color is perfect for me. It gives me just the right amount of color, without looking too fakey bronze!

Candie’s Ghillie Lace-Up Flats – I am obsessed with these shoes! I know they are all the trend right now, and I needed to get in on it for myself! These are the pair I found (pretty inexpensive) and I love them! They are actually more comfortable than they look, and I feel like they are the perfect detail to any outfit, even just jeans and a tee!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I loved during April! Have you tried any of these? Do you have a favorite from this month that I need to check out? πŸ˜‰

March Favorites!

Welcome back everyone! Now that we are a few days into April, I think its about time to share some of the things I loved during March. I have some beauty-related products as well as a fashion item. These have been my go-to products/items and I’m happy to have found some new favorites!

Shoes: (From Old Navy, but similar HERE) I actually purchased these shoes toward the end of summer/fall last year, but I have worn them just about everyday this month. Because the weather is in between winter and summer, I Β have found myself between not quite wanting boots, but at the same time, not quite ready for sandals. These shoes go with just about everything and are so easy to just throw on and run my errands. They can be dressed up or down, which I love! (and did I mention they are so comfy?)

Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation: I have been a long time fan of the matte + poreless version of this foundation, but with my skin being so dry right now, the matte just looks terrible. So I thought I’d give this one a try and I really love it! It lasts a long time, but keeps my skin looking glowy all day.

Smashbox Color Correcting Stick in “Light (peach)”: This has been my new favorite color corrector for my dark circles/undereyes. I love that it is crayon form instead of a pot which so many other are, and it just glides on so easily and creamy. It really does a great job of correcting my dark circles!

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer: I received this as a free sample from an online Sephora purchase several months ago, and just never used it. But when I ran out of my current heat protector spray, I decided to give this a try. First of all, the scent is AMAZING, and it really does seem to protect my hair from the heat (I use this before I use any hot hair tools). I’ve also noticed that my hair felt so smooth after using this!

e.l.f. Selfie Ready Powder Brush: I picked this bush up about a month and a half ago, and I wasn’t even sure what I would use it for! But after doing some playing around with it, I actually like to use it with bronzer. The brush it a little bit denser and small so it works perfectly to bronze my cheekbones and around my forehead. Best part of these brushes is that they are so inexpensive!

And there you have it! Those are the things I love during the month of March. I can’t wait to see what new products April brings πŸ˜‰

I would love to know what you have been loving as well!

Spring PINspiration!

Happy Saturday everyone…its finally the weekend!! I don’t normally post on Saturdays, but since I didn’t post all week I figured I’d throw in a little surprise post πŸ™‚ I had a very busy week of work and studying for a special test for my career, so that is what kept me away. But today I want to share some of the new spring trends that I want to try. These are things that I have pinned on Pinterest..hence PINspiration πŸ˜‰ So I won’t keep you waiting any longer, lets see what trends I am dying to try!

Lace up flats – I just love how cute and feminine these flats are! I am drawn to the nude color more than the black. Need to find a pair of these!

Printed shorts – I have seen these everywhere, and I think they are so cute and fun! I like the pin because it looks so casual and effortless! Perfect for the beach, or a picnic!

Stripes and distressed denim – I don’t know what it is about this look, but I love it! I have always been a lover of stripes, and I love how it looks with the distressed jeans. I love that this look can be worn super casual or dressed up a little bit!

Fringe sandals – Fringe has been huge for a while now, but I am loving the look of fringe sandals. I think it so different and fun, and again, can be worn casual or dressed up! I can see myself wearing these a lot this summer!

Have you tried any of these trends? What are you loving?

Trend of The Moment

I know this trend isn’t exactly new, and I started to get into this trend a while ago. But recently, so many stores are releasing some new spring products based on this trend. And what is it?? TORTOISE. I have a tortoise print watch that I got a while ago, and it has been one of my all time favorite pieces. I think it makes the perfect neutral print and goes with just about anything! I’m having fun looking at the new products and it has got me so excited to wear this print this spring/summer!

Sunglasses: Cole Haan at Nordstrom Rack

White/Tortoise Earrings: BaubleBar

Bracelet: BaubleBar

Studs: Kate Spade

Watch: Fossil at Macy’s

Have a great day!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it is finally the weekend! Normally, I share my monthly favorites, which consist mostly of beauty products. But today, I wanted to share some non-beauty products that I am loving at the moment. A little bit of fashion and lifestyle products that are especially perfect for the fall weather right now!

Β IMG_0116

Ok, first up is a food item. This may seem a little weird, but I am loving this stuff! I always love popcorn, but especially during the fall when I cozy up to watch a movie or one of my TV shows, I love to indulge with a little popcorn. This popcorn is already popped and is supposed to be a little better for you. I love this flavor because it is not super sweet like kettle corn is, but has just enough sweetness!

I probably don’t need to explain this one, but seriously, blanket scarves are my go to right now! I have about three different colors of plaid blanket scarves and they are just so easy to throw on with any basic top (plus they are functional…they actually keep me warm!)

Lately I have been loving the look of mixed metals. I used to be all about silver, and then I was all about gold, now I’m all about the combo!! I love this necklace from Express because it is easy to throw on with almost anything, and I love that it has a few gold strands, a few silver, and a darker color. What I also love is that I can pair any other jewelry with it, and not worry about the metals matching!

Next is this hand soap from Bath & Body Works in ‘Cozy vanilla cream’. I just love the sweet vanilla scent, but it almost has a little spiciness to it! Love it!

And last, is one of the every popular candles from Bath & Body Works. I particularly love this scent ‘Marshmallow fireside‘. It’s part sweet, part smoky’. I love how cozy it makes me feel when I burn it! (So much that I have extras on hand!)

Let me know what you are loving right now!! Hope you all have a great weekend πŸ™‚

My FIRST Stitch Fix!!

Hi everyone! Today I have an exciting new post…an unboxing of my first ever Stitch Fix. I had been hearing so much about this company and thought it was about time I give it a try! Stay tuned to find out what Stitch Fix is, how it works, and most importantly, what I got!

What it is: Stitch Fix is a company that assigns a personal stylist to help you with your wardrobe. After filling out an extensive style profile, you sign up for a ‘fix’, and your stylist sends you the items!

How it works: After completing the profile, you simply select when you want to receive your box, and you can choose mostly, every other month, or just whenever you want one! You will initially pay a $20 styling fee (which you apply later on to one of the items you decide to purchase). You receive 5 items (clothing, jewelry, bags, etc.) and you try them all on and decide what you want to keep. Your box will come with a list of the items and prices. Whatever you don’t want to keep, you simply send back in the provided bag that is already post-marked (so easy!). If you do decide to keep all 5 items, you will get 25% off of your total (plus the $20 styling fee).

My stylist is Samantha…Let’s see what she picked out for me!

Look by M – Sammie Plaid Infinity Scarf – $34 –Β This was the first thing I saw, and I instantly knew I loved it! It’s a really thick and warm blanket scarf that could not be more perfect for fall (and winter!). This seems like a great quality, and I love the colors. Keeper!

Pixley – Matata Faux Suede Pocket Knit Top – $44 – This was the next item I pulled out. While I love the way it fits and it is so comfortable, I am just not real crazy about this color combo. Returned

41Hawthorn – Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater – $68 – Next up is this sweater. It is a more light weight sweater, but it is sooo comfy and cozy! I love the different color stripes and think this is so perfect for fall and winter! However, I just can’t justify paying $68 for this sweater. So, sadly, this is returned 😦

Market & Spruce – Elissa French Terry Moto Jacket – $74.00 – In my original styling notes, I had requested a military style army green jacket, My stylist let me know that there was not one in the inventory, but she thought this would make a nice layering piece for fall. And she was right! I don’t own anything like this already, and I think it is so cute for a night out! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep it because of the price, but it seems like really nice quality and a good staple piece for my closet. Keeper!

Liverpool – Mira Skinny Jean – $78 – The last thing I got was this pair of skinny jeans. The fit is nice, although they are a little long for me, so they bunch up through the leg. The one thing I do not like about them though, is the waist band. There is no button or zipper, and they have an elastic stretchy type waist band. I’m just not a big fan of these, so I can’t justify paying that much money if I don’t LOVE something. Returned!

Overall, I am so happy with the pieces Samantha chose for me! I will definitely be doing this again!

Let me know your thoughts on Stitch Fix, and if you haven’t checked it out, you can check it out (here).
