A New Subscription Unboxing!

Hi everyone! It has been a very long time since my last post, and I am so sorry for that! Before I dive into the new subscription box I am trying out, I want to mention that I have cancelled two of my previous subscription services. I decided to cancel Ipsy and Boxycharm because quite honestly I just felt like I was getting the same type of items over and over again and I wasn’t using half of the products I received. Once I cancelled, I thought “Oh, great, theres an extra $30 I’ll have each month”. AND THEN, I found this new subscription box, and of course, I caved. So let’s find out which one I’m talking about!

The Play! by Sephora box is $10 a month and you receive 5-6 items that can be found at Sephora. To check it out click HERE (p.s. it’s not a referral link, just wanted to share it for you!). That’s the first thing that intrigued me, because if you find something you love, you know where to get it. Unlike Ipsy or Boxycharm, sometimes you get brands you’ve never heard of and are hard to find. There is a waitlist with this box, but it didn’t take me too long before I was off of it! So far, I received just one box for the month of May, and want to show you wha type of products I got!

The box itself is super cute and has the typical black and white stripes of Sephora. When I opened the box, this is what I saw…a cute little bag inside!

Origins skin-optimizing mask primer – This came with the little spray bottle of the primer, and then two on-time-use masks to try it with! I haven’t tried this yet, but am curious to see how it makes my masks feel different!

Korres wild rose + vitamin C advanced brightening sleeping facial – This is another one that I haven’t used yet, but it smells so good! I can’t wait to try this out!

Tarte tarteist lip crayon in “Latergram” – this a very pretty neutral, nude-pink shade. It goes on very easily and is a great color to go with a lot of my lipstick shades!

Bite Beauty amuse bouche lipstick in “Kimchi” – I had been hearing a lot about these lipsticks, and was excited to see that I got one! The color is not something I would wear everyday, but as for the lipstick itself, it feels very creamy and nice on my lips, and has pretty decent lasting power as well!

Atelier orange sanguine cologne absolute pure perfume – I don’t really love perfume samples that come in this little bottle with no sprayer. But thats ok, they are good for the purse, and it allows you try out a scent. This is a very nice citrusy scent that is perfect for summer! So far, I’m liking it!

Briogeo Don’t despair, repair! deep conditioning mask – This is another one I have not tried yet, but I am curious to see how it works. I have very dry, frizzy hair, so I’m hoping this has good outcomes!

For my first month, I was pretty happy with the products I received! Some I’ve tried, and some I haven’t, but will be trying very soon!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this, and again, if you want to check this box out for yourself, click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

April Favorites

Hi everyone! First off, I just want to say that I am sorry for not keeping up with my blog as well as I would have liked! I have so many things going on right now, that I think for the time being, my posts will be limited to once or twice a week. I hope you can understand, and I promise to pick back up when my life allows! So for now, I want to share what I have been loving in the month of April. I don’t have a ton of products to show you, but quite frankly I have had too much going on to experiment a whole lot. But I have found a few staple products that have not let me down this month!

Pantene Pro-V Smooth Heat Protecting Spray – I had recently used up my current heat protector, and I wanted to try something different. I have really been enjoying this one! It smells so delicious and I feel like it really does protect my hair when I’m straightening/curling it.

Philosophy Pure Grace Summer – This perfume is like summer in a bottle! I can’t quite describe the scent, but its floral and fresh with a hint of coconut. When I compare it to my other favorite summer perfume (Bobbi Brown, Beach), this perfume isn’t as in your face BEACH as the other one. So if you don’t like the smell of sunscreen, this may be more for you!

Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in “Baked” – I got this in a mini size that came in a set that I purchased during the sale because I wanted to try a few things out from the new brand. Well out of the whole set, this has been my favorite! I have a ton of bronzers, but what I love is that it is a cream, which is good for my already dry skin. I also love how easy this is to apply. With the stick form, I literally just draw it on where I want it, and blend! it blends so easily and the color is perfect for me. It gives me just the right amount of color, without looking too fakey bronze!

Candie’s Ghillie Lace-Up Flats – I am obsessed with these shoes! I know they are all the trend right now, and I needed to get in on it for myself! These are the pair I found (pretty inexpensive) and I love them! They are actually more comfortable than they look, and I feel like they are the perfect detail to any outfit, even just jeans and a tee!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I loved during April! Have you tried any of these? Do you have a favorite from this month that I need to check out? 😉

Empties! Will I repurchase??

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do anything fun? I didn’t do anything special, just relaxed and spent time with my husband and friends 🙂 So today I am sharing the products I have used up over the last 3 months. I share these quarterly (since I don’t go through enough products to do it monthly). I will share my thoughts on the product and whether I will repurchase it or not. I have a pretty good variety of products to share, so let’s get in to it!

Shower Products:

FullSizeRender 42

Philosophy Shampoo/Shower gel/Bubble bath in “Have a Cherry Christmas” – Obviously this was a holiday scent, and it was a very fun (very glittery) pink shower gel. These have always been my favorites (just depends on whether I like the scent or not). I LOVED this scent, and it was perfect for the holiday season! I think this was also my first “glittery” one, but I didn’t find that it left my skin glittery afterward, which is good.

Would I repurchase? YES

Philosophy Shampoo/Shower gel/Bubble bath in “Pumpkin Icing” – As I said above, I always enjoy the consistency of these shower gels, but this scent was AWFUL. Which is weird, because usually I’m all about pumpkin everything, but this was just too fake smelling or something. Not my favorite 😦

Would I repurchase? NO

Whish Shave Cream & Hair Inhibitor – This is a coconut scented shave cream that is also supposed to be a hair inhibitor. I can’t really say whether or not it inhibited my hair growth, but it was definitely great as a shave cream! I love the scent and it made my legs feel smoother than they have ever felt!

Would I repurchase? YES

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes in “Cucumber & Sage” – I really enjoyed these wipes! They did a great job at removing my makeup, but didn’t seem to irritate my skin at all (which I appreciate!). And I really loved the scent…it just felt so cool and refreshing!

Would I repurchase? YES

Eco-beauty Good Night, night cream – I believe this came in one of my Ipsy bags, and it was really great for a nighttime moisturizer. The scent wasn’t my favorite, but I really liked how moisturized my face felt the next morning. Just not sure if it replaces my favorite nighttime moisturizer.

Would I purchase? No

Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisturizer – This is the above mentioned favorite nighttime moisturizer. This stuff is AMAZING. It is a little on the thicker side, but I apply it only at night, and when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels so hydrated. It also has a pleasant smell to it which I really like as well. I also love that it can be found at the drugstore for a pretty reasonable price!

Would I repurchase? YES

L’oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter – I really enjoyed using this as an under-eye concealer/brightener. I didn’t really use it as a blemish concealer because I bought it in a shade lighter than my normal concealer. This made it really great for brightening my under-eye area. As for the consistency, it never creased and blended so easily!

Would I repurchase? YES

Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Mascara Primer – I received this as a free sample with a purchase from Ulta I believe. But I absolutely loved it! At first, I thought it would be gimmicky, but I found that it was beautiful on its own as well as under my favorite mascara of the moment. It has a brown tinted color to it, which makes for a very natural look when worn on its own.

Would I purchase? YES

Benefit Gimme Brow – This was probably my second or third tube of this, and I have always loved it! I love how small and compact is it (except for how much it costs 😦 ), and it is so convenient to just swipe through my brows and I was good to go. After this tube finished up, I decided to try some drugstore options (strictly for the price reason), and so far I haven’t found one as great.

Would I repurchase? YES

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Hairspray – I believe this also came in an Ipsy bag. It was perfect for a travel sized hairspray and it had a really nice scent to it. As far as hold, it provided pretty good hold, but nothing spectacular or different from some other products.

Would I purchase: Probably not.

Hope you all enjoyed going through my trash 😉 Just remember that because I didn’t particularly care for something doesn’t mean you won’t! these are just my honest thought and opinions!

Hope you all have a great week 🙂

November Boxycharm

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, whether you were celebrating Thanksgiving, or doing some Black Friday shopping!! Today I am going to share what came in my November Boxycharm. The theme this month is “Beauty Par-Tea” and I’m pretty happy with everything I got!

Luxie Rose Gold Concealer Eye Brush – Full size – $12 – This is a pretty nice brush to have. It works well for under eye concealer, and I think it may also be useful for eyeshadow.

Manna Kadar’s Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain – Full size – $24 – This is a very pretty color, especially for this time of  year. I have not worn this yet, so I don’t know how well it works as far as a stain.

Pur~Lisse Pur~Eye Adore Quadra Benefit Eye Serum – Full size – $65 – First off, this is very expensive for an eye serum, so I am excited to try it out!

StudioMakeup Soft Blend Blush Sahara – Full size – $17 – This is a very pretty color, kind of goes well with the lip gloss stain. It is well pigmented and gives the perfect rosy flush!

Coolway Leavin-in Treatment – Full size – $19.95 – I have not used this yet, but I have always enjoyed the products I get from Coolway!

Overall, the total of this box is $137.95! Quite a good deal for only $21! If you haven’t tried Boxycharm yet, it is $21/month and you get 4-5 full size products! Check it out (here) if interested!

Thanks for stopping by!

Empties! Will I Repurchase??

Hi everyone!! I have been away for about a week, but now I’m back!! I’m starting a new ‘Empties’ series, and have decided that I will do an ’empties’ post every 3 months. So today I will showing you what I have used up in the past 3 months, and whether I think it worth repurchasing or not! I hope you enjoy!

It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-in Plus Keratin – This was just the travel size that I had purchased before a vacation, and I LOVED it! I have naturally curly, frizzy hair, and this has made my hair feel so smooth and soft.

Will I repurchase? I have already repurchased the full size!!

Philosophy Shampoo, Shower Gel, & Bubble Bath in ‘Fresh Cream’ – This was the first scent that I tried out of Philosophy’s collection of shower gels. First off, I really enjoyed the shower gel itself, and I love that it works for bubble bath also! But secondly, this scent is AMAZING!! I don’t even know how to describe it, but it reminds me of frosting or whipped cream! So yummy 🙂

Will I repurchase? YES!!

OGX – ‘Brazilian Keratin Therapy’ Conditioner – I have used this conditioner for over a year, so I have already gone through several bottles of this. This also has keratin in it, so it makes my hair feel so silky smooth! And I love the smell of it!

Will I repurchase? YES! I already have a couple bottles on back-up 😉

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – I really liked how this mascara curled my lashes and lengthened them. It never smudged on me, and kept my lashes curled all day. The only thing I hate about it is the price ($24) 😦

Will I repurchase? Maybe. I have found a drug-store mascara that I think does the same thing, for way less $$, but I do think this is a really good mascara!

Benefit Porefessional Primer – This is just a deluxe sample size, and I have gotten a few of them over the past year. I like this primer, but I don’t know if it is my favorite. I like consistency of it, and I do think it helps hide my pores.

Will I repurchase? No. I will never purchase the full size of this, mostly because right now I have a few sample sizes, but even when those are gone, I don’t think I would buy the full size.

Ok everyone, those are the things I have used up recently! Let me know your thoughts on any of these products!!
