Spring/Summer Fragrance

Hi everyone, welcome back! I’ve been planning on this post for a while, hoping the weather would warm up, but once again, today is a cool, dreary, rainy day 😦 But I Β know the warm weather HAS to be on its way! So today I am sharing my favorite fragrances for spring and summer! When it comes to fragrance, I am usually drawn to woody scents that are more suitable for fall and winter, but I have three fragrances that I am obsessed with for summer season! All three are very different, and maybe this will help you if you are looking for a new scent!

Bobbi Brown “Beach” – This scent could not have been more perfectly named. It literally smells like a day at the beach. I know some people do not like this scent because it has a “suntan lotion” type of smell, but that is what I love! The main notes are: jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin. I just love this scent, and its perfect for a vacation, or just a hot summer day! This was the only scent I took on a recent vacation to Jamaica and it was perfect to spray on night and I smelled like I had just spent the day at the beach (which I had) πŸ™‚

Clinique “Happy in Bloom” – This scent is very different than the first one. This is more of a floral (as the name implies). The notes are: Yellow Plum, Watery Green Notes, White Freesia. I love this scent because it is very clean and fresh with a little bit of floral. Perfect for a spring day and perfect for everyday wear.

Philosophy “Pure Grace Summer” – Now this one seems like it may be similar to Bobbi Brown “Beach”, but where that one smells like a “beach day”, this one captures more of a “summer day”. It is not sunscreen smelling, which some people may prefer. But you still get a slight hint of coconut mixed with almost a fruity and fresh smell. (This one is so hard to describe!). The notes are:Β Bergamot, Coconut Water, Citron Zest, Dune Rose, Cocoa Absolute, Solar Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla.

So those are my three favorite scents for spring/summer! I know everybody has different tastes, but these are just some ideas if you are looking for a new fragrance! Another tip I want to point out is that if you are unsure of a scent, check to see if it comes in a rollerball or travel spray. I often buy scents in the rollerball if I want to try out a fragrance before splurging on the full size, or also because they are handing for your purse/travel bag. And also, lets be honest, how often do we go through a full size fragrance!?

I hope you enjoyed this post, have a great weekend!

Empties! Will I repurchase??

IMG_1104.JPG

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do anything fun? I didn’t do anything special, just relaxed and spent time with my husband and friends πŸ™‚ So today I am sharing the products I have used up over the last 3 months. I share these quarterly (since I don’t go through enough products to do it monthly). I will share my thoughts on the product and whether I will repurchase it or not. I have a pretty good variety of products to share, so let’s get in to it!

Shower Products:

L-R:

Philosophy Shampoo/Shower gel/Bubble bath in “Have a Cherry Christmas” – Obviously this was a holiday scent, and it was a very fun (very glittery) pink shower gel. These have always been my favorites (just depends on whether I like the scent or not). I LOVED this scent, and it was perfect for the holiday season! I think this was also my first “glittery” one, but I didn’t find that it left my skin glittery afterward, which is good.

Would I repurchase? YES

Philosophy Shampoo/Shower gel/Bubble bath in “Pumpkin Icing” – As I said above, I always enjoy the consistency of these shower gels, but this scent was AWFUL. Which is weird, because usually I’m all about pumpkin everything, but this was just too fake smelling or something. Not my favorite 😦

Would I repurchase? NO

Whish Shave Cream & Hair Inhibitor – This is a coconut scented shave cream that is also supposed to be a hair inhibitor. I can’t really say whether or not it inhibited my hair growth, but it was definitely great as a shave cream! I love the scent and it made my legs feel smoother than they have ever felt!

Would I repurchase? YES

Skincare:

L-R:

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes in “Cucumber & Sage” – I really enjoyed these wipes! They did a great job at removing my makeup, but didn’t seem to irritate my skin at all (which I appreciate!). And I really loved the scent…it just felt so cool and refreshing!

Would I repurchase? YES

Eco-beauty Good Night, night cream – I believe this came in one of my Ipsy bags, and it was really great for a nighttime moisturizer. The scent wasn’t my favorite, but I really liked how moisturized my face felt the next morning. Just not sure if it replaces my favorite nighttime moisturizer.

Would I purchase? No

Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisturizer – This is the above mentioned favorite nighttime moisturizer. This stuff is AMAZING. It is a little on the thicker side, but I apply it only at night, and when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels so hydrated. It also has a pleasant smell to it which I really like as well. I also love that it can be found at the drugstore for a pretty reasonable price!

Would I repurchase? YES

Makeup:Β

L-R:

L’oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter – I really enjoyed using this as an under-eye concealer/brightener. I didn’t really use it as a blemish concealer because I bought it in a shade lighter than my normal concealer. This made it really great for brightening my under-eye area. As for the consistency, it never creased and blended so easily!

Would I repurchase? YES

Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Mascara Primer – I received this as a free sample with a purchase from Ulta I believe. But I absolutely loved it! At first, I thought it would be gimmicky, but I found that it was beautiful on its own as well as under my favorite mascara of the moment. It has a brown tinted color to it, which makes for a very natural look when worn on its own.

Would I purchase? YES

Benefit Gimme Brow – This was probably my second or third tube of this, and I have always loved it! I love how small and compact is it (except for how much it costs 😦 ), and it is so convenient to just swipe through my brows and I was good to go. After this tube finished up, I decided to try some drugstore options (strictly for the price reason), and so far I haven’t found one as great.

Would I repurchase? YES

Haircare:

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Hairspray – I believe this also came in an Ipsy bag. It was perfect for a travel sized hairspray and it had a really nice scent to it. As far as hold, it provided pretty good hold, but nothing spectacular or different from some other products.

Would I purchase: Probably not.

Hope you all enjoyed going through my trash πŸ˜‰ Just remember that because I didn’t particularly care for something doesn’t mean you won’t! these are just my honest thought and opinions!

Hope you all have a great week πŸ™‚

How I De-stress/Relax

IMG_0767

Hi everyone! Today I thought I would do something a little different and share what I use to de-stress/relax/calm down. We all have those days where we feel stressed or overworked, or maybe just have something negative going on in our lives. These are some super simple things I use when I need to de-stress a little bit!

IMG_0762

1). Adult coloring book – these are the rage right now, and they truly do help to relieve tension and help you relax. I love to color after I’ve had a long, emotional day, as it gives me something to focus on and keeps my mind off of the negative.

IMG_0764

2). Tea – there is nothing cozier than settling down with a cup of tea when I want to relax/calm down. I go for decaf tea so that it helps me unwind instead of getting all energized! This mint chocolate tea is one of my favorites right now, and also makes me feel like I’m having a little treat πŸ™‚

IMG_0766

3). Bubble Bath – one of my favorite ways to relax! My go-to products are fun bath bombs or bubble bars from Lush, or my all-time favorite, vanilla coconut bubble bath from Philosophy. I love a nice, soothing bath to help me relax!

IMG_07634). A good book – I love to read, even when I’m not feeling stressed! But I find that reading is a good way to forget about what may be bothering me, especially when I let myself get lost into the story of a book!

And usually, I combine two or more of these to make for a super relaxing evening πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoyed this post and maybe it will help you find some ways to release some tension!

Have a great week!
