A New Subscription Unboxing!

Hi everyone! It has been a very long time since my last post, and I am so sorry for that! Before I dive into the new subscription box I am trying out, I want to mention that I have cancelled two of my previous subscription services. I decided to cancel Ipsy and Boxycharm because quite honestly I just felt like I was getting the same type of items over and over again and I wasn’t using half of the products I received. Once I cancelled, I thought “Oh, great, theres an extra $30 I’ll have each month”. AND THEN, I found this new subscription box, and of course, I caved. So let’s find out which one I’m talking about!

The Play! by Sephora box is $10 a month and you receive 5-6 items that can be found at Sephora. To check it out click HERE (p.s. it’s not a referral link, just wanted to share it for you!). That’s the first thing that intrigued me, because if you find something you love, you know where to get it. Unlike Ipsy or Boxycharm, sometimes you get brands you’ve never heard of and are hard to find. There is a waitlist with this box, but it didn’t take me too long before I was off of it! So far, I received just one box for the month of May, and want to show you wha type of products I got!

The box itself is super cute and has the typical black and white stripes of Sephora. When I opened the box, this is what I saw…a cute little bag inside!

Origins skin-optimizing mask primer – This came with the little spray bottle of the primer, and then two on-time-use masks to try it with! I haven’t tried this yet, but am curious to see how it makes my masks feel different!

Korres wild rose + vitamin C advanced brightening sleeping facial – This is another one that I haven’t used yet, but it smells so good! I can’t wait to try this out!

Tarte tarteist lip crayon in “Latergram” – this a very pretty neutral, nude-pink shade. It goes on very easily and is a great color to go with a lot of my lipstick shades!

Bite Beauty amuse bouche lipstick in “Kimchi” – I had been hearing a lot about these lipsticks, and was excited to see that I got one! The color is not something I would wear everyday, but as for the lipstick itself, it feels very creamy and nice on my lips, and has pretty decent lasting power as well!

Atelier orange sanguine cologne absolute pure perfume – I don’t really love perfume samples that come in this little bottle with no sprayer. But thats ok, they are good for the purse, and it allows you try out a scent. This is a very nice citrusy scent that is perfect for summer! So far, I’m liking it!

Briogeo Don’t despair, repair! deep conditioning mask – This is another one I have not tried yet, but I am curious to see how it works. I have very dry, frizzy hair, so I’m hoping this has good outcomes!

For my first month, I was pretty happy with the products I received! Some I’ve tried, and some I haven’t, but will be trying very soon!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this, and again, if you want to check this box out for yourself, click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Foundation First Impression!

Hi everyone! Does anyone else love placing online orders and getting a free deluxe sample along with?? I recently placed an order and there was a coupon code for a free sample of the new Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid. I’ve tried it out a couple of times, and wanted to share my first thoughts!

Claims: “A revolutionary medium-to-full coverage skin care foundation fluid powered by 100 percent pure argan oil and nutrient-rich pigments for vibrant, glowing skin” – Sephora

Let me start off by saying that if you have oily skin, you probably would not like this, but if you have dry skin like me, this is great! I found that it provided a medium coverage, but left my skin looking so glowy! There was no visible dry patches, even after a couple of hours. I thought it felt very lightweight and moisturizing on my face!

As far as lasting power, it held up a good several hours, but then started to fade. But I was happy with the lasting power for a day-to-day basis!

The packaging is so cute and pretty! There seems to be a decent variety of shades, which is great! The full size bottle is $45, and while I really enjoy this foundation, I’m not sure I would spend that much for the full size.

I would definitely recommend trying this out, and you can still get a sample size free with a $25 purchase…just use the code “vibrancy”

Have a great day!

Sephora Wish-list

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Today I am sharing my Sephora wish-list, because today starts the VIB sale (this started  yesterday for those that are VIB rouge). If you are VIB like me, you will have gotten a coupon for 15% during the sale. So I thought I’d put together a list of some things I have been wanting and may pick up during the sale. I have been really good for the past few months of not buying a ton of makeup. So I always use this opportunity to pick up some pricier items, or just to treat myself! This is such a great time because there are so many new products out, and even some new brands! This is why I love  Spring…it’s all about finding some fresh new products!

1). Milk Makeup – “Have a good trip set”: This is one of the new brands to Sephora, and it has me very interested! This item in particular sparks my attention because it seems like a great way to try several of the products. You get six travel-sized products, all inside a fun bag!

2). Becca – Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush:  Becca recently came out with these blushes that have more of a sparkle or lustre to them. I just think the colors are so beautiful (particularly “Snapdragon” shown above).I think it would be beautiful for Spring/Summer!

3). Fresh – Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream: I just happened to come across this when I was browsing the Sephora site and it sounds so lovely. I really enjoy rose scents and of course, my dry skin can always use some hydrating cream. The reviews sound really great as well, so I might have to try this out!

4). NARS – Laguna Liquid Bronzer: Everybody raves about the original NARS Laguna bronzer in the powder form (I love it too!), and now there is a liquid version! I feel like this is becoming a trend, since Benefit has done it with their famous “Hoola” Bronzer. I have not seen this yet in stores or tested it, but if the color was a match for me, I really think this would be an interesting product to try!

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if they are worth it or not!

And of course, if you are shopping the sale, have FUN!

Smashbox Insta-Matte

Hi everyone! Happy Friday, and happy 1st day of April! I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by! But this is my favorite time of year, so I am ready for it! Today I wanted to share a review on a new product that is getting a lot of buzz lately: the Smashbox “Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer“. This is a gel-like formula that you are supposed to apply over any lipstick to turn it into a matte. Matte lips are all the rage right now, so I definitely think it is an intriguing product! Recently, I placed an online order from Sephora, and received a sample of the lipstick transformer.

It is definitely a gel consistency, and you only need a little. The first downside of this product that I noticed was that even when I applied just a tiny amount, it caused my lipstick to smear. I tried a couple different lipstick formulas, and this still occurred. I suppose its not the end of the world, as long as you make sure it doesn’t smear onto your face!

As for the question of whether or not it actually turns the lipstick to matte? I think it definitely does. Like I said, I tried this with a few different lipsticks, and some made more of a difference than others. One thing I do like about this is that even when it turns the lipstick matte, it is not drying whatsoever. It still feels a little creamy from the gel, but you get the matte appearance.

When it comes to lasting power, this held up for a good couple of hours. As I said above, my lips never felt dry, even after an hour or so.

In my honest opinion, I’m not sure that I would buy the full size of this. I love matte lips, but I’d almost rather buy a matte lipstick than spend $24 on this. But I definitely want to try it out more, and see if I can find some ways to make it not smudge my lipstick so much!

Let me know if you have tried this, and what your thoughts are!

They’re Real! Tinted Lash Primer

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Today I am sharing a first impression/mini review of a new product! It is the Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Lash Primer. I received a free deluxe size sample and so far I am really liking it! This promo is still going on at Sephora.com, just use the code MINKLASH and get it free with any $25 purchase! (I am in no way sponsored or paid to share this, I just simply want to share it with you)!

FullSizeRender 30

Aside from the free deluxe sample, the full size product will be  available at Sephora and Ulta very soon! Claims: A mink-brown lash primer that tints, defines, and primes lashes for a natural, feathery look—plus, it can be paired with your favorite mascara for boosted length and separation – Sephora

I have always been a huge fan of the original They’re real mascara, so I was excited to try this! I have worn this by itself several times in the past few days, and I love the natural look that it gives me. There are days when I just want a simple look and this tinted primer makes my lashes look long and natural, but not like I am wearing mascara. As the claim mentions, it also goes great underneath mascara, and gives it just a little something extra. One thing I noticed that I LOVE, is that it doesn’t come off onto my eyelids like some mascaras often do. Usually when I work I do not wear eyeshadow, so if my lids get oily even a little, my mascara rubs off on my lids. This doesn’t!

I am excited to keep using this, and I may consider buying the full size sometime! Let me know if you have tried this yet, and if you haven’t, be sure to check out the free sample!

Sephora VIB Haul

Well, I was a little bit naughty during the Sephora VIB sale. Even though the sale is over, I still wanted to share what I picked up because I think they are great products, and I got some fun new things to try!

NARS Audacious Lipstick in ‘Anna’

I finally caved, but I knew this was the perfect time to get one since I got 20% (and they are a bit pricey!). I am so happy with it! I’ve worn it a couple of times now and it is just so creamy and smooth, and lasts a long time too!

NARS blush in ‘Sin’

I have been lusting after this color for probably a year or more. Most of my blushes are pinks/colors, and I love how different this one is! I think it is perfect for fall/winter.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in ‘Bow n Arrow’

This is another color I have been wanting FOREVER. It has been sold out pretty much since the day it was released. I had about 30 seconds when it was finally in stock, so I knew I had to jump on it! But it is just the perfect nude color and these are my favorite liquid lipsticks!

Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in ‘Doce’

This was kind of a surprise purchase for me. I have been looking for a few months now for the perfect ‘pumpkin spice’ color, and I finally found it! I have never tried these eyeshadows, but after I swatched it, I knew I had to have it! So pretty for fall!

Jack Black ‘It’s the Balm’ Lip Quartet

I think this might be a men’s brand, but I tried a sample size of this recently and fell in love! So when I saw that there was a gift set, I decided to pick it up! There are four different flavors, so I’m excited to try the different ones. This formula just leaves my lips feeling so soft and smooth!

GLAMGLOW Poutmud Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment and Wet Lip Balm Treatment Duo

I was so intrigued by this and saw some other bloggers/youtubers talk about this, so I decided to try it. You get two ‘balls’ and one is the exfoliating treatment and the other is the lip balm. I’ve used it once and it really made my lips feel so good. My lips tend to get so dry and flaky, especially this time of year, so this is great! I probably wouldn’t have bought this if I didn’t have the 20% off, so I’m glad I got it when I did!

This is another product that I received a sample of and loved! I already love  GLAMGLOW’s masks, and now I wanted to try the cleanser. Again it’s a bit pricey (like most of these things), but I figured now is the time with 20% off. I’ve only used it once, but so far I like it!

Elizabeth and James ‘Nirvana Black’ Mini Rollerball

I have the ‘Nirvana White’ that I got as a point perk a while back, and I love it. I decided I needed this one too! They are both distinctly different, but so good! This one is perfect for fall/winter! I decided I only needed the rollerball since I never go through full bottles, and its a great way to try something new!

Ok guys, that is everything! I know it looks like a lot (yes, I have a problem, you don’t need to tell me!). But I couldn’t NOT get these things when I had 20% off! RIGHT?!? 😉

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these, or something fun that you picked up in the sale!

Sephora Sale Recommendations!

Hi everyone! So the Sephora sale has started already for VIB rouge members (which I am not). For Sephora VIB, the sale will start this weekend. So I am starting to get my list ready, and thought I would share some top picks and recommendations for %20 off!

1) An Eye Palette:

This is a great time to get a good eyeshadow palette. There are several cult favorites, like the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, or the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes. I have the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette (pictured above) and I absolutely love it!

2) A New Perfume:

Fragrances rarely go on sale, so this is a great time to splurge! There are so many great scents, so I am just going to share two picks. First is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black which I don’t own (yet) but smells so amazing! Second is one I just recently picked up: Clean White Woods, which is the perfect scent for fall and winter!

3) NARS Audacious Lipstick:

The NARS Audacious lipsticks are so expensive, so the best time to get one is when you have a discount! I currently don’t own any, but have been lusting after them for a long time!

4) Skincare:

Skincare is usually pretty pricey, so again, this is a good time to get sometime you’ve been wanting! I personally love the Glamglow line, so I may pick up a new mask or cleanser! I previously bought the travel size mask to try it out, and I love it! So I want to get a full size!

5) A Value Set:

Kat Von D Monarch Eye & Lip Set

Bite Beauty Discovery Set

Too Faced Beautifully Blushed and Bronzed Set

There are so many great holiday sets out right now, which is a great way to try some new products! Above are just a few of the top sets out right now, but there are so many more!!

I hope this list gives you some ideas for the sale! I still don’t know exactly what I’m going to pick up!

I would love to hear some of your top picks as well!

❤ Rylie
